WELLINGTON, October 10. The international Rugby Board has written to the New Zealand Rugby Union stating the average weight of the New Zealand' pack on the British tou,r in 1935 must not exceed 14.7, according to an announcement m an English newspaper. The article continues: — The Boaid have also expressed hopes that m case of injury to any United King'dom players, whether in the scrum, tight or back or line-outs, New Zealanders will go cannily. It Will be recalled that at the end of their last toui one NeW Zealand player was prdered oh at. Twickenham- The Board apparently have in mind the fact that the tourists’ teams, especially forwards, are composed entirely of fully developed men, whereas their opponents are often mere boys who have, just left school, and are still at the Warsity.” The Secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr Neilson, stated, today, that no such advice had been received, to his knowledge. He did not think the International Board would make any suggestion of the kind. “It is absolute rot and absurd!” was how the Chairman of the Management
Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union (Mr Dean) described the article. He was quite sure no such request would come from the International Board.
