Lord Bledisloe, Field Marshall Lord Milne, John Masefield, the Poet Laureate, and Lord Huntingfield, Governor of Victoria, were among distinguished guests at the quarterly luncheon, to the Lord Mayor, Sir Harold Gengoult Smith, held in the City Town Hall, which was magnificently festooned with spring flowers, and attended by a hundred prominent in political, commercial and civic life. Lord and Lady Bledisloe are staying with Lord and Lady Huntingfield. NELSON’S BISHOP SYDNEY, October 11. On the eve of the departure for the Bishopric of Nelson, Canon Hilliard was farewelled with Mrs. Hilliard at Ashfield Town Hall. He received several gifts. The Archbishop of Sydney, Doctor Mowll, said it would be difficult to spare Canon Halliard, but it would always be the privilege of Sydney to try to minister to the Church in New Zealand.
