Mrs A. E. Penty left, this morning, on return to Wellington.

ISliss G. Gilmore left to-day, on a holiday visit to Bankside.

Mr G. Gilbert will return on Saturday from a visit to Ohai.

Miss M. Brown left, this morning, on a visit to Christchurch.

Lieutenant Murray, of the Salvation Army, Reefton, left to-day, on a holiday visit to Oamaru.

Mrs E. Rollinson, who has been visiting Greymouth, left td-day on return to Timaru.

Mr D. McLauchlan will arrive by this afternoon’s express from Wellington, on a holiday visit.

Miss Hempseed (Waiuta) left today, on a holiday visit to Hawke s Ray.

Sir Alexander Roberts has been appointed to the directorate of the Union S.S. Coy.—Press Assn.

Miss J. Fitzgerald, of Blackball, has entered the Ngarana Private Hospital.

Mr H. Longworth, Physical Education Instructor to the Canterbury Education Board, will leave, this evening, on return to Christchurch.

Mr A. King left this morning, for Christchurch, where he has secured a position in the Railway Department. Mr King is a West Coast representative Rugby footballer.

Mr. J. W. Matthewson, who has been Assistant General Manager to the Union Steam Ship Co., has been appointed General Manager.—Press Assn.

The wedding of Miss M. E. Goodson, of Wellington, and Dr Paul J. Fogarty, son of Mr and Mrs M. J. Fogarty, of Greymouth, will take place in the. Catholic Basilica, Hill Street, Wellington, on Wednesday next. Mrs M. J. Fogarty left to-day, for Wellington, to attend the ceremony.

The wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Christchurch, yesterday, of Ernest, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. Dumpleton, of Blackball, and Rita, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs George Clark, Moonlight Road. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Jean Clark. Mr Ron Dumpleton, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.

The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, yesterday, of Mary, youngest daughter of Mr W. Howie, and the late Mrs Howie, of Roa, and George, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. McMahon, of Timaru. The bride wore a becoming grey model frock, relieved with blue, and a blue neora straw hat. She was attended by her sister. Miss Margaret Anderson, who wife attired in a frock of brown crepe, with a brown straw hat. The newly-married couple left later for Timaru. .

The death occurred at the Reefton Hospital last, evening, of Mrs Emma Boustridge, aged 57 years. Deceased was a member of the Senior family of Taylorville, and had resided on the W T est Coast for many years. She is survived by her husband, Mr F. F. Boustridge, of Brunner, one son, Frederick, of Wellington, and two daughters, Mrs Freeman (Reefton), and Mrs Williams (Wellington). The funeral will take place at the Suburban Cemetery, to-morrow ( afternoon, leaving the residence of Mrs Freeman, Reefton, at 2 p.m.
