Dealing with gold-dredging in the West Coast district, during 1933, the annual report of the Mines Department states: —The Mataki dredge, in the Murchison district, was first operated in August, and, until the end ot the year, had been worked for 2,196 hours, yielding 5300 z of gold valued at £3,421.
