FUNERAL
CAVALIERE G. PEROTTI. The funeral of the late Cavaliere Geraldo Perotti at Karoro Cemetery yesterday afternoon, was largely attended. ‘included in the cortege were representatives of the Grey mouth Borough Council, Italian Club In e Board County Council, Haibout Board’ West Coast Justices’ Association, and Mr A. Vigna, representing the Italian Consul for New Zealand. The Civic Band, in uniform, headed the procession, playing the “Dead March” on the way to the Cemetery, and the “Garland of Flowers” at the graveside. There was a large number of spectators along the route, including pupils of the Convent and Marist Schools, in front of the Convent School, and the Gray Main and Technical School pupils in front of their respective schools, all standing respectfully at attention as the funeral procession passed. The pall-bearers were Messrs F. A. Kitchingham, J. S. Robertson (Borough Council), G. and A. Zampesi (Italian community), G. Webster- and Captain Angas (Old Boys’ Assn.), C. E. Heaphy and F. Costello (Fire, Brigade). Floral and other tributes were received from the following:—Royal Italian Consul, Wellington; President and Members, Garibaldi Club, Wellington; The Italian Club, West Coast; Greymouth Fire Board; Chairman, Councillors and Staff, Greymouth County Council; Chairman, and Members, Greymouth Harbour Board; Members Greymouth Fire Brigade; Directors, Greymouth Evening Star; Members and Staff, Grey Power Board; Greymouth Surf and Life Saving Club; Mayor and Councillors of the Borough .of Greymouth; Conductor, and Members, Grey Civic Band; West Coast: Old Boys’ Association; Members Karoro Sports Club; Grey Licensed Victuallers’ Association; The Brunner Old Boys’ Association; President, and Members of Greymouth Jockey Club; The Greymouth Borough Council Staff; Mrs Orr and Jack; Nurse Tillyshort; Mr P. C. Heaphy ami Mr E. Warnes; Mr and Mrs T. E. Coates; Mr and Mrs F. Chunn; Mr and Mrs D. Mcßrearty; Mr and Mrs L. Wilson and Family; The Zampesi Family; George and John Bidgood; Vigna Family and L. Vificoli; Mrs Negri and Mrs Regaldo; Mr and Mrs R. E. Groom: F. W. Baillie and C. Neville. A vote of condolence with the relatives of the laic Cavaliere Geraldo Perotti was passed, last evening, by the Greymouth Harbour Board, on the motion of the Chairman (Mr P. J. McLean), who paid a tribute to the deceased.
