RUNANGA NOTES
[OUB OWN COREEBPONDENT.] The Runanga Ladies’ Croquet Club held their monthly children’s social on Saturday last. The committee were: Mesdames Erikson, Braithwaite, Griffiths, Howard and Wilson. Mrs. Fowler kindly supplied the music. Among the children present were the following: Ida Walsh, Jean Pearson, Linda McCracken, Ronald McCracken, Sylvia Ward, Audrey Ward, Aileen Hill, Olive Greening, Bruce Erikson, Tommy Pinn. Pat Knight, Joan Knight, Betty Hillhouse, Jack Forest, L. Forest, Athol Robertson. Afternoon tea and lollies were served the children after games and community singing. Recitations, Aileen Hill “Sixpence,” Olive Greening, “New Zealand”: Ida Walsh “Haiwatha”; Jean Pearson and Pat Knight were the winners of the “Musical Arms”; A. Robertson and L. Forest won the relay race; Jean Pearson and Aileen Hill “Lucky Spot” dance. The condition of Mi’ J. Marshall, who is an inmate of the Grey River Hospital, is unchanged. Mr J. McTaggart is making good progress in the Grey River Hospital.
