ENTERTAINMENTS
OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. “Bitter Sweet” the world’s greatest operetta, with its brilliant dialogue, well written lyrics and delightful melodies attracted a very large audience at the Opera House last night. Anna Neagle’s beauty and ability in the leading role of Sari are a source of pleasure. The part of her husband Carl, is admirably looked after by Fernand Graavey, while the very lengthy cast is without a weak link. “Bitter Sweet” will be finally ■shown to-night. I FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. Co-starred, Marie Dressier and Lionel Barrymore bring comedy, heart interest and gripping drama to their fans in an inimitable blend in “Her Sweetheart”, to be screened Friday and Saturday. As Abby, the faithful old servant, suddenly in possession of a priceless painting and the centre of intrigue and plotting, Miss Dressier gives another of her intensely human portrayals. Barrymore as the kindly old Hagget who becomes obsessed at the thought of riches almost in his grasp, gives a brilliant performance.
