notte, not wishing for any stigma to attach to the theatre, is now going to place me legally in the position of her son. in other words, she is going to adopt me.” Miss Melnotte was indignant about statements that her age was S2, 83, or 86. “You can take it from me,” she said, “that I am only 72—and that is the first time I have ever told anybody. I am going to marry another man, but that is not the reason whjr I am not marrying Mr Moore."
