Malcolm Conner, won the annual five mile cross Solent race from Southsea to Ryde in .145 minutes, half-an-hour ahead of the second, and beating the Channel swimmer Temme’s last year’s time by a minute. He said that it was one of the coldest swims in his life. It was a pleasant change not to be worried by sharks. He hopes to gain other English suecesses. PARIS, September 3. The French swimmer, M.
