FORTUNE FOR CHURCH
DUNEDIN WOMAN’S BEQUEST. [PER press association.] DUNEDIN, September 2. Under the will of Mrs. Caroline Ranken Wilson, daughter of thejate Captain Sundstrum, the Church of Christ, Dunedin, will, at the termination of certain life interests, receive the majority of the estate, which was sworn for probate purposes at under £20,000. It is estimated that, after payment of several private bequests, a residue of £12,000 wil be available for religious purposes set out in the will. The private bequests concern people in New Zealand, Great Britain and the United States. Specific direction with regard to (he residue after the expiry of life interests are as follows: — £lOO to the Church of Christ, Dunedin, for social service work. £lOOO to the Church of Christ, Dunedin. to purchase a. pipe organ or towards the reduction of debt, thereon on maintenance or the salary of an organist.
.£lOO to the Council of the Associated Churches of Christ of New Zealand, aged preachers’ provident fund. £lOO to the trustees of the Church of Christ Bible College, Glenleith, Woodhaugh, Dunedin.
The residue is bequeathed to the Church of Christ, Dunedin, to be applied in terms of the directions already stated in respect to the purchase and maintenance of a pipe organ.
