IRISH FREE STATE

"BLUB SHIRTS” AND ULSTER (BY CABLE —PBES3 ASSN.—COPYBIGHT.] LONDON, August 31. Professor James Hogan has resigned from the newly-appointed National Executive of the United Ireland Party. He does so as being “the strongest possible protest against General O’Duffy’s destructive and. hysterical leadership, and also his pronouncement regarding Ulster, which is fatal' to the policy of a national unity.” “The Times’s” Dublin correspondent states: “Therb is excitement over the resignation of Professor Hogan, who has been one of the United Ireland Party’s most loyal and steadfast supporters. His defection is almost certain to bring to a head several differences that are known to exist between General O’Duffy and other members of the Executive of the United. Ireland Party.”
