GREY-HOKITIKA RACE. A road race, from Greymouth to Hokitika, was staged by the Grey-mouth-United Cycling Club yesterday. Fourteen riders competed, six of them meeting with mishap along the route, and failing to complete the course. The conditions Were good, and the times registered were fast. The young riders off the limit put up good performances, two of them, R. Lewis, and P. Taylor, finishing first and second respectively. The result was as follows: R. Lewis (25min) 1; J. Taylor (25min) 2; D. Johnston ,(17min) 3, L. Hogarth (3min) 4, and fastest time. Lewis’s time was lhr. 46&miri.; and fastest time lhr. 37|min. Al§o started: J. Archer (25min.); D.. Morland, R. Daniels (18), D. Lyons, V. Hogarth (12), -J. Larking, J. Daniels (6), D. Clarke, W. Innes (3), P. Duffy (scr).
