AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE
LANCASHIRE BOYCOTT [BY GAELIC —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, August 30. The “Financial News” says: The Manchester boycott movement against Australian goods is in no way encouraged by the leaders of the cotton trade, whose attitude is to await developments as regards Australia’s cotton duties. EFFECT ON NEW ZEALAND. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, August 31. Some concern has been expressed in New Zealand over the boycott of Australian goods: by provision dealers in the North of England. Although cablegrams have made no mention of the possibility of New Zealand goods being brought under the ban, it is considered there is a danger of produce from New Zealand being confused with produce from Australia, in the minds of the English traders. Inquiries made in official quarters indicate that up to the present the New Zealand Government has nor deemed it necessary to take any special steps to safeguard the interests of the Dominion producers, but it is taken for granted the High' Commissioner will watch the position and advise the Government, if it is necessary to take action.
