FIGURES WELL MAINTAINED. [BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.] RUGBY, August 28. The Exchequer returns show that the total ordinary revenue collected last week amounted to £10,411,267, and ordinary expenditure incurred was £6,545,951. As compared with last year, the receipts into the Treasury are well maintained. The inland revenue for the current financial year up to August 25 amounted to £92,628,000. On the corresponding date, of last year, the total was £89,720,800. Income-tax receipts, represent a large item in this figure, and amount to £44,208,000. This is an increase of £6,580,000 on last year’s figures. Receipts from estate duties to date, at £35,040,000, are, however, over £3,000,000 lower than at the corresponding date last year. Customs an dexcise receipts which, during the current financial year, have so far yielded £115,969,000, are over £2,000,000 more than at the corresponding date of 1933. Excluding self-balancing revenue, the total ordinary revenue from all sources for the period April 1 to August 25 of the current yeaf’, amounts to £228,416,413, as compared with the figure of £232,205,529 received into the Exchequer in the corresponding period of 1933. Tho total ordinary expenditure to date is £271,093,284. The comparative figure last year was £268,976,158.
