OTTAWA, July 14

The Dominion revenue for June increased by 4,224,000 dollars, making a total increase of 15,000,000 dollars for the first three months of the fiscal year. The exports totalled 147,526,920 dollars for the three months, an increase of 35,971,000 dollars, with 3,916,000 dollars of a gain in wheat.

NAVAL CONFERENCE. PARIS, July 14. M. Pietri (Naval Minister), interviewed, declared that Italy and Japan have proposed that Paris be the venue for the next Naval Conference. France, however, considered the Conference should meet at London or, otherwise, at a neutral town. CANADIAN COMMUNISTS. OTTAWA, July 13. Malcolm Bruce, John Boychuk, and Tom Hill, who were Communists sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for advocating the overthrow of the Government, have been released from the petitentiary on parole, after serving two years. BRITISH TRADE RETURNS LONDON, July 15. The Board of trade returns for June are: Imports £61,172,000, exports £32,120,000, re-exports £4,315,000. The principal increases, compared with June last year are: —

Imports: Meat £913,000, other food £301,000, tobacco £340,000, beverages £831,000, wood and timber £1,995,000, rubber £835,000, non-ferrous metals £732,000, machinery £351,000. Exports: Coal £360,000, machinery £601,000, cotton manufacturers £382,000, woollen and worsted manufactures £420,000, vehicles £431,000. Decreases: Imports, grain and flour £340,000, raw cotton £744,000. Exports, non-ferrous metals manufactures £396,000. Re-exports, raw wool £366,000, chemical drugs and dyes £631,000, hides and skins £582,000.

ANGLO-ESTHONIAN TREATY

RUGBY, July 13

The new, Anglo-Esthonian trade agreement' comes into force ten days after the exchange of ratifications, and lasts until the end of 1936, and thereafter is subject to denunciation at six months’ notice. It provides for the maintenance of the most favoured treatment towards Esthonia, particularly as regards agricultural products, in regard to which the United Kingdom undertakings are similar to those contained in the agreement with Scandinavian countries. In return, Esthonia provides new facilities for imports from Britain, reduces duties on textiles, coal, and other goods, and undertakes to take 85 per cent, of her coal imports from the United Kingdom, and promises to enocurage the use of British shipping.
