BOWLING.

A delegates from Dunedin to the New Zealand Bowling Council’s annual meeting at Auckland was speaking on a burning question arising out of bowls disqualified at the 1934’ Dominion tourney at Dunedin. He stated that there was some cause for criticism of the testing of bowls in Christchurch, where a disqualified set was subsequently passed “all correct.” There was a lengthy argument over the action taken by Mr. P. J. M’Comish (Nelson) in regard to his disqualified bowls in the last Dominion tournament, at Dunedin. Mr. W. A. Dee, the Nelson delegate, stated that the bowls had subsequently been passed

by the official testers in eight towns. Mr. 11. Rowley (president of the council during the New Zealand championships) took exception to Mr. M’Comish ventilating his grievance in the newspapers in view of the fact that the decision of the tourney tester had necessarily to be final. Eventually it was resolved that the action of the official at Dunedin be confirmed.
