DOYLE LOSES AN APPEAL

LONDON, July 12.
The Court of Appeal has reversed Mr. Justice Mackinnon’s decision in favour of Doyle (the boxer who was disqualified in his contest with Petersen). The Master of the Rolls gave a judgment that the Board were entitled to deal with the prize money as they thought fit, as there was no question that Doyle had been disqualified. It was to the advantage of’ everyone that rules should ensure clean fighting.
TOWNSEND’S SHIP-BABY.

The arrival of the Aorangi reveals the birth of a daughter aboard the shin to Billy Townsend, the boxer, and his wife. The baby was named Aorangi, and presented with a purse by. the passengers. Townsend announces that he is through with boxing.
