WRESTLING
DETTON V CHEUNG.
[PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEW PYMOUTH, June 26. Dean Detton defeated Wong Buk Cheung, by two falls to one, before a good house at Stratford to-night. MEYER V. WONG. The Greymouth Boxing Association’s experiment in putting on a Friday night bout in an endeavour to get a good class of wrestler, has been well rewarded for the Meyer-Wong Buk Cheung bout on Friday next should provide an abundance of hard, clever 'wrestling, with fireworks in plenty to keep the crowd at a high pitch of' excitement. Meyer is a firstclass wrestler, and is the real bad man of the present batch of overseas men in New Zealand. He has won two decisions over the Chinese, but Press reports on each occasion have stated the bouts were highly colourful and. exciting. Wong is a fast wrestler, and a real personality in the ring. His speciality is the King Foo stopper, a hold he introduced to New r Zealand. The following amatetir preliminaries have been arranged:—W. Williams v. R. Neilson; C. Bloomfield v. R. Myers; H. Blanchfield v. C. Cameron (Runanga).
