Ilyling purchased Mollison’s “Dragon Seafarer.” and rechristened it “Trail of the Caribou." They in-iend attacking the world's long distance record at the end of the month, attempting to fly from Toronto to Baghdad, as a purely sporting venture. JEAN BATTEN. SYDNEY. June 10. Joan Batten has gone to Melbourne by train to keep faith with her engagements, owing to being advised that the bad weather was unfit for flying between Sydney and Melbourne. SMITH’S CODOC PLANE. (Recd. June 11. 2 p.m.) SYDNEY. June 11. Kingsford Smith’s Codock monoplane is unlikely to go to New Zealand before the end of the year. The Codock to-day inagurated a. twice daily return service to Newcastle, with a trip from Newcastle, carrying a full load of six passengers against a. head wind, in 44 minutes.
