WRESTLING
TO-NIGHT’S BOUT. Harry Manios arrived in Greymouth, last evening, from West port, where, on Thursday, he defeated Wong Buck ■ t’houng, in a thrilling contest, and rej ym'iS himself in tip-top condition for .■ his bout with Gharlie Santen, at the > Greymouth Town Hail to-night. ■ Alamos has enjoyed considerable sue-; ■< ss in each of his Iwo previous visits to New Zealand, and this season ■ Ims continued on liis winning wav .urniug on bright willing wrestling wherever he has appeared. Charlie Santen has been recognised n the States ar. a coming star, and | arned his inclusion in this season's! earn for New Zealand on account of his strength ami his speedy wrestling. He has not. enjoyed a great deal of aicess, but has made the best of them, including Dr. Meyer, Shikini and Detion, step lively, so it can be taken for granted that he will have Manios doing his best over the full eight rounds. Santen has earned something of a reputation as a “rough house artist,” so fireworks in plenty can be expected. The main bout will be preceded by nmaluiir preliminaries, which wiii coinnienc.e at 8 p.m. The principal bout will not commence until about. !) p.m., Io give business people I he opportunity of witnessing it. KOLOFE V. BOLT. HASTINGS, June 8. By reason of greatly superior strength, Dan Koloff scored an easy victory over .Rex Bolt this evening. The contest was witnessed by an almost packed house. Bolt, worked hard with wrist locks, but his efforts were unavailing against the remarkable strength of the Bulgarian, who secured two straight falls with dumps, followed by body presses, after a, colourless bout, which ended early in the fifth round. KOLOFF TO MEET WALKER Don Koloff, the Bulgarian wrestler, is to meet George Walker at Wellington, on June IS. Koloff is probably the best wrestler ever to come to New Zealand, and his bout with Walker should be the best match that can be put on in New Zealand. Harry Manios considers that Koloff will beat the Canadian. He says Koloff is a wonderfully strong and solid wrestler with none of the frills of showmanship—a hard wrestler all the way. He holds a decision over Henri De Glave, exchampion of the world, whom he met in Paris before coming to New Zealand. The houses that can be drawn in New Zealand will not satisfy Koloff, and be will leave in the course of a few weeks for Australia.
