PIG SHOOTER KILLED. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) INVERCARGILL. May 13. While pig shooting with two companions on Saturday in the countiy, a young man named Edgar 'I homas White, of Drummond, received a bullet in the temple, and died before he could be taken to the hospital.

DEATH AT CARDS AUCKLAND, May 13. Collapsing at a game of cards at Onehunga, a resident, Mr. Patrick Fallon, aged SI years, died suddenly last night during the weekly euchre tournament conducted by the Catholic Parish. , Mr. Fallon complained of feeling unwell, and ho put down his cards. A few minutes afterwards he collapsed and, on the arrival of a doctor, it was found that life was ex-

tinct. As death was due to heart failini. no inquest is necessary. A native of Ireland, the late Mr. Fallon was for many years farming at Whangarei. He retired ten years ego, and settled at Onehunga. living alone.

INJURED BY CAR. WELLINGTON, May 14. _ Knocked down in the city by a “hit and run” motorist, on Saturday evening, J. Burns, H. Cobble and S. Knight, three firemen from the liner Mahia, received injuries which necessitated their removal to the hospital. Burns received injuries to the head and back. Cobble to the head and left leg, and Knight to the head and right leg. All three suffered from severe shock.
