Misty rain fell intermittently from the commencement of the Waimate Racing Club’s meeting. The attendance was fair, and the course was holding slightly, following overnight rain. It became very greasy later, handicapping Roi L’Or in an exhibition mile, driven by O. C. Watts, and accompanied by the galloper Why Worry. Roi L’Or covered a half mile in 1.5 and a mile in 2.13, an excellent performance under the circumstances. The straight-out tote handled £5,326, against £6,695 when the win and place totalisator was in operation last year. Following the running of the first race, G.
