COUNTY DEPUTATION

[to the editor.] Sir. —I wish to extend to Mr. J. Ryan an apology for your reporter in confusing Poerua and Inchbonnie with Rotomanu. We all know that Mr. Ryan, has plenty of worries, without asking him to shoulder the responsibility of the recent deputation to the Grey County. Although the Rotomanu settlers were responsible for the deputation, being appointed, it is to be deplored that the stigma should reSt on Mr. Ryan’s shoulders, and the severest censure should be meted but to your reporter. The only reason I can see why the mistake was made is that all the people in Rotomanu are good looking, which must have been, applied to the deputation. I am/etc.,

H. HASKELL. ”

Poerua, 11/4/34.
