SWIMMING. [per press association.] DUNEDIN, April 16. At the Otago Boys’ High School swimming sports, this afternoon, seven records were broken by the brothers, S. and W. J. Jarvis. An outstanding performance was that of W. J. Jarvis, who won the senior championship. He covered 100 yards in 57 l-ssec. He swam 220 yards in 2min 35 l-ssec., and 33 1-3 yards back stroke in 20 2-ssec. S. Jarvis, winner of the junior championship, won the 33 l-3yds. in 16 4-5 sec., the 66 2-syds. in 38 l-ssec., the 100 yards in 63 3-ssec., and the 33 1-3 yards back stroke in 21 4-ssec. GOLF. SYDNEY, April 16. The Kirk-Windeyer Golf Cup team returned to Sydney to-day. They had no excuses to offer for their defeat. They paid tribute to the great hospitality extended to them in New Zealand. They found the Middlemore course on the short side. The fairways were exceptionally fast, and the greens were also fast and true. Apperly described Horton as. the best iron player he had yet seen. Hornabrook had a fine style, and should develop into a great player. Menziese was a young and promising player. BILLIARDS CHAMPIONSHIP LONDON, April 16.
