WHEAT EXPORT QUOTAS. (BY CABLE—PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] WASHINGTON, April 14. America will. probably request an increase in her export quota under the world wheat agreement, if the system of minimum export prices agreed upon at the Rome Wheat Conference becomes effective. It was indicated by the agricultural officials, to-day, that the existing domestic carry-over of 400,000,000 bushels will be augmented by about 80,000,000 bushels from the current crop, and therefore it will require an appreciable increase on the 47,000,000 bushels export quota, which is relatively small in comparison with Argentina’s quota of 100,000,000 bushels. Australia’s 105,000,000 and Canada’s 200,000,000. The officials said, however, that they favoured in principle the fixing of minimum export prices. TREASURY BILLS. RUGBY, April 13. A total of £8,470,000 was applied for in the tenders for £4,000,000 Treasury bills. The amount allotted in bills at three months was £48,000,000, an average of 17/10.93d as compared with 17/9 last week.
