Found drifting in a boat in the fog, by a coastal steamer at 3.30 in the morning, twenty-seven members of the Meandros’ crew were landed at Portland. Only two are missing. OTHER VESSELS IN TROUBLE RUGBY, February 13. The Minesweeper, Pangbourne, went ashore off Portland Bill during the fog but refloated under her own steam, leaking slightly. She went into dry dock for examination. Early this morning, the Russian steamer Rosa Luxembourg 3191 tons, off the Sussex coast sent out distress signals, but the captain refused to abandon the vessel and asked for a tug. The Channel steamer “Worthing” searched a long time for the Rosa Luxembourg in the fog without success, and a tug was also sent to the assistance. Later, the Russian ship was located, and anchored off Worthing. CHINESE DROWNED. SHANGHAI, February 13. Four hundred Chinese were drowned in the Yangtze River when the river steamer Fuyuen capsized and i sank, 20 iniles below Hankow. There ' was an unusually heavy load of pas- 1 sengers aboard, travelling to the New Year Day celebrations. The ship 1 struck a sand bar and overturned. •
