FLOWER SHOW

IN ST. JOHN’S HALL The annual summer flower show is being held in St. John’s Hall this afternoon. The entries in all sections, except the domestic section, are large, and in the case of the cut flowers, .inore numerous than last year. The Judges of the cut flowers commented favourably on the class of the blooms. There is a good attendance, and wellstocked stalls are attracting visitors. The judges were: Cut flowers.and vegetables Messrs Cummings and T. Yairney; Decorative, Miss E. Kyle, Domestic, Mr. P. Blanchfleld. The stallholders are as follow: — Cakes, Mrs. P. J. McLean, Miss Meikle, Miss J. Hambleton; work, Mrs. W. Kyle, Mrs. E. P. Peters; sweets, Mrs. L. Anderson; vegetables, Mrs. G. Wilson; decorative, Mrs. J. Leitch; cut flowers, Mrs. C. Woods; tea rooms, Mrs. J. McKenzie, Mrs. T. Learmont, Mrs. J. Hambleton; secretary, Mrs. O. McLean. „ There is a special exhibition ot gladioli blooms by Mr. N. Burn, of Boddytown. Special prizes have been won as follow: Most points in decorative sec tion, Miss N. Tennent; runner-up, Mrs. F. M. Dennehy. Most points in vegetable section, Mrs. G. Wilson; runnerup, Mrs F. M.
