Their Excellencies and party sailed this morning from Auckland by the Government steamer Matai, en route to the Waitangi celebrations. They will visit two lighthouses, and put in at Kawau to-morrow night, watch the Royal Yacht Squadron’s regatta, on Saturday, and arrive at Russell on Saturday night. They are due to return to Auckland on February 16. Press Assn.

Mrs J. T. Hilton was a passenger by this morning’s express to Christchurch.
Miss J. Allen, who has been visiting Blackball, returned to-day, to Christchurch.
Miss N. Gain, who has been visiting Mr and Mrs N. Shallcrass, returned to-day to Dunedin.
Mr and Mrs A. Reeve, of Auckland, are staying with their daughter, Mrs T. A. Johnston, Palmerston Street.
Mrs S. Baddeley, of Te Kuiti, left on return, to-day, after spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. Armstrong, Runanga.

Mr Joseph Butler, Managing Director of the Kauri Timber Co., Melbourne, will arrive in Greymouth this evening, on a business visit.
A cablegram from Ottawa announced that Mr Edward Wilkinson Grange, aged fifty-seven, General Manager for Canada, for Reuter’s Ltd., died on Tuesday.
The funeral of the late Mrs Annie Young took place, this morning, at Karoro Cemetery. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church by Rev. Father Holohan, who also conducted the service at the graveside.
The death has occurred at Adamstown near Newcastle, of Mr Hugh Connelly, one of the Miners’ representatives in the New South Wales State Assembly. He also was Chairman of Committees for the Assembly, and a stalwart ouicial of the Labour Party. He was fifty years of age. He served with distinction in the War, attaining the rank of Major.
The death occurred last evening, at Wellington, of Mr Charles Boddy, a native of Greymouth, aged 58 years. He had lived in Wellington for about 20 years, but formerly resided at Greymouth. He leaves a. wife, one son and one daughter, in Wellington, and one daughter Miss Chris. Boddy (Greymouth); also his mother, Mrs R. Boddy, three brothers, Arthur, and Reuben (Greymouth), and Ernest (Moana), and five sisters, Mesdames J. Lewis (Greymouth), Rowse (Moana), Hazeldine, Brown and Whiteside (North Island).
