PAPAL HOLY YEAR
NOT TO BE EXTENDED. VATICAN CITY, November 18. The Pope will not be prolonging the present Holy Year beyond April 2, 1934. His decision has been communicated to heads of the Roman Catholic Church throughout the world. Some confusion has arisen with regard to the organisation of pilgrimages to witness the Pope’s closing of the Jubilee Door at St. Peter’s at the end of the Holy Year. Owing to rumours that lie would postpone it thousands of people abroad, who had arranged to bo in Rome next April, decided to put off their visits in order o arrange them again when they had neivs of the date of the ceremony.
