Sir John Simon states he is highly satisfied with the excellent work that has been accomplished with Signor Mussolini in their conversations. He says that the views of Britain and Italy have coincided in the more important matters, and especially regarding that of disarmament. It is understood that no decisions have been reached, but that the viewpoints have been clarified. Proposals for the revising of the League of Nations are being discussed on Thursday. The Italian view is that the League Covenant should be treed from the fetters of th© Peace Treaty. LOAN INTEREST DEFAULT RUGBY, January 4. No reply has been received from the German Government to the recent protest by the United Kingdom Government against, the action of the German Reichsbank in varying by unilateral action, the existing agreement with the British-and other holders of German long and medium term loans, and in discriminating against British creditors. The United Kingdom Government has notified the other Powers especially interested in the matter, including the United States, of the action they have taken, and have exchanged views.
