Following the Trade Treaty with New Zealand, the Commonwealth Government foresees a great opportunity foi* furthering trad© relationships with the Dominion, based on official figures of exports and imports. Australia desires the removal of New Zealand’s embargo on green vegetable and citrus fruits, and the Trade Commissioner who is to visit New Zealand hopes to pave the way in this direction, and also to establish -a better .understanding in trade affairs generally.
ATHLETES’ TOUR. SYDNEY, December 20. Contrary to the resolution passed by the State Amateur Athletic Association, Metcalfe and Hampson with the Tasmanian, Barwick, will make a tour of New Zealand leaving Sydney on February 15. . Secretary Heathwood said the Association would not debar Metcalfe and Hampson from making the trip. “We are fighting for a principle, and are not concerned with individuals. As a matter of fact we are trying to safeguard the athlete.”
