The Secretary of the Bell-Kilgour Gold Mining Company, Ltd., reports that the wash-up for the week ended December 15 from development work amounted to lOozs. sdwts. WAITAHU COMPANY. The Waitahu Gold' Mining Company, Ltd., reports that sluicing operations have been steadily carried out since the commencement of operations on October 20. The work so far has been confined to the stripping of the top material, and at the present date the top 30ft has been stripped over an area of one acre and one-fifth. This is verv satisfactory in view of the limtied supply of water available. The severe drought has materially affected the supply of water, but fortunately the water-race is a first-class job. and no trouble has been experienced with this. Authentic records indicate that the normal rainfall is nearly three times as much as the actual rainfall for the past three months. The figures of rainfall for the remaining nine months of the year (based on the records of the past four years) show that, under normal conditions, ample water should bo available the whole year round. The question of the conservation of water by means of a dam so as to regulate supplies is receiving the attention of the directors. MOSSY CREEK CO. The Mossy Creek Gold Dredging Co., Ltd., formed to work an area near Hukarere, has gone to registration, with the capital fully subscribed. The interim directors are Messrs S. Sullivan, P. C. Heaphy, W. Hill, C. Hunter, and F. G. Dunn. Mr A. Marris, Christchurch, is the interim secretary. The dredging plant has been ordered from England, and the preliminary work will be put in hand immediately. INANGAHUA JUNCTION SALE.
