An aged and bedridden Southampton woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, has offered to pay a fine of Jis fox- William Frederick Dunbar, a young London man who failed last week to pay that sum and was sent, to Winchestoi' Prison fox- two months. Ho had tried to smuggle 51b. of tobacco into Parkhurst Prison, Isle pf Wight, for convict, friends. Dunbar had only been released three days previously, after seven years’ penal servitude. The woman offered tho fine in tho hope that Dunbar would not ruin his life.
