BRISBANE, November 7

Tn the Sheffield Shield cricket match against Queensland, New South \yales in the first, with four wickets down for 494 declared. Correction:

McCabe made 20, not 40. Yeats took 2 for 155, and Oxenham 1 for 81. Queensland in the second innings made 140. (C. Andrews 31, Levy 37). O’Reilly took 7 wickets for 52, and Mair 3 for 30. New South Wales won by an innings and 171 runs. The wicket was dry after yesterday’s rain, but the outfield was damp. O’Reilly at one stage to-day had taken four wickets for eight runs.

S. AUSTRALIA V. VICTORIA

ADELAIDE, November 7

In tho Sheffield Shield match, Victoria with five down for 431, declared their second innings closed. Tobin took 2 for 94, and Davey 2 for 91. South Australia, in the second scored 231 (Nitschke 11, V. Richardson 102). Victoria won by 169 runs. Ironmonger took 6 for 65 and Fleetwood Smith 3 for 74.

N. ZEALAND CONFERENCE

CHRISTCHURCH, November 8.

The biennial conference of delegates from affiliated Cricket Associations, opened this morning, Mr. C. E. Nalder presiding. A Wellington remit suggested that a fixed charge in favour of any association handling a match against a touring side for the New Zealand Cricket Council, should .be made against the gross takings. This was defeated. The chairman said that such an arrangement would cut out an association not getting the match.
