The vital statistics for Greymouth, during the month of October, 1933. with comparisons, in parentheses, witn October, 1932, are as follow-: Births 25 (26); deaths 14 (24); marriage notices issued 9 (9): marriages conducted by Registrar 1 (1). Customs revenue collected at Greymouth durnig October amounted to £2939 1/5, compared with £1762 14/8 for the corresponding month of last year, an increase of £1176 6/9. The sales tax last month amounted to £1519 11/11. The total collections for last month amounted to £BBO7 12/-, compared with £2835 12/5, an increase of £5961. 19/7.

DUNEDIN, October 31

Customs figures for the month ending to-day, with the corresponding figures for last October shown in parentheses, are; Customs £45.395 (£47,671), beer duty £24,426 (£24,792), sales tax £16,462 (nil), petrol tax £13,200 (£13,754), tyre tax £313 (£777). During the month 115 births were recorded, against 111 in the same month last year. Deaths numbered 31 compared with 67 and the marriages 51 (55).
