WELLINGTON, October 31.

The New Zealand Championship rowing regatta has been allocated to the Marlborough Association, to be rowed at Picton on February 17. At the annual meeting of the New 'Zealand Amateur Rowing Association to-night, applications were received from Otago, Marlborough and Wellington Associations for the interprovlncial championship eights, and these on a vote being taken, were allocated to Wellington, the date being fixed for Easter Saturday. It was decided to circularise local Associations as to whether, in the event of a visit of New South Wales oarsmen, they could nominate a specified' amount, and if replies are favourable, to proceed with the invitation. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr W. J. Girling (Marlborough); vice-presidents: Messrs A. C. Norden (Auckland), F. W. Mothes (Wellington); council—Messrs R. G. Duncan, T. M. Hinkley, D. R. Menzies (Wellington), G. Lauchlan (Wanganui), H. Paton (Otago), A. Ross (East Coast), M. A. Turner (Canterbury) ; secretary-treasurer, Mr A. D. Bayfield; auditor, Mr W. Wheeler. GOLF.

SYDNEY, November 1. V. Richardson, with a total of 144, won the Professional Golfers’ Cup at Blacktown. D. Souter took 147, E. E. Bolger 148, F. Bolger 148, and C. Gray 148. ATHLETICS. LONDON, October 31. At Cambridge Freshmen’s sports, a New Zealander, L. Williams, won the three mile race in 16:7 minutes.
