MORE SCENES AT TRIAL.

AIX-EN-PROVENCE, October 27. Georges Sarret, the accused lawyer, and his daughter, dissolved into tears when, following the collapse and removal from the Court of Sarret’s first wife Madame Bertrand as she attempted to testify, the prosecutor read her statement made prior to Sarret s arrest. ~ , His second wife, Madame Airaud, also weeping, testified that Sarret had given her many articles belonging to the murdered priest, Father Chambon, in whose villa Sarret lived for three months aftr Father Chambon s death. There was another scene when Philomene Schmidt flew at Sarret and tried to scratch his face, screaming, “You dirty scoundrel','’ and “You low dog.” The police with difficulty restored order. MISSING POISON. (Recd. October 30, 9 a.m.) AIX EN PROVENCE, October 29. Further startling evidence at the sulphuric acid trial, included that by a chemist employed at a Marseilles pharmacy, declaring that in 1925 a man named Garrette, who bad been a lover of Philomene, had access to poison, of which sufficient to kill fifty was once found missing. The prosecution produced documents allegedly signed by Deltreuil, Catherine’s former husband, proving that Deltreuil. a chemical inventor, was able to obtain various acids. Catherine's counsel declared that the documents Were forgeries. The prosecution also read letters from Mother Herbin, revealing that three months after a consumptive’s death, Catherine wrote ostensibly on '.behalf of Tierbin, stating: “Our dear little friend is unable to write, owing to an injured finger.” Catherine declared that Sarrett dictated the letters.
