LAKE BRUNNER NOTES
[OUB OWN COBRESPONDENT.] The “Mystery Ball” held in the Moana Hall, last Saturday night under the auspices of the Sports’ Club Com mittee was a great success both socially and financially. Visitors were present from many parts, including Bell Hill, Rotomanu, Hokitika and Kokiri. The supper arrangements were in the hands of a capable sports club committee. Messrs J. Robinson and Lucas were in charge of the floor.. Music for the dancing was supplied by Noel Nestor’s orchestra with extras .by Misses B. Franks and I. Newman. An amusing feature of the night’s programme was a statue waltz won by Mr. C. Bryan and Miss C. Butcher. The winners of the Monte Carlo were Mr. D. Hudson and Miss D. Colen. A guessing competition was won by Mr. T. Mackenzie and Miss K. The condition of Mr. David (Snowy) Birchfield who is an inmate of the Greymouth Hospital, owing to a motorcycle accident, was to-day reported to be just about the same.
