GRAIN OFFICIALS SENTENCED [BY CABLE —PBESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] RIGA. July 17. Charged with under-estimating the crops in Zalogin, the Director of the Odessa Grain Trust, and also three State Farm officials, have been sentenced tp ten years of forced labour in remote regions and to the confiscation of all their property, and their deprivation of civil rights for 15 years. Two others were sentenced to six and four years respectively. SPRING SOWINGS. MOSCOW, July 17. _ The Soviet Commissariat of Agriculture have announced that spring sowings have been completed for an area of 232,000,000 acres only. This is two per cent, below the area planned.
