BROADCASTING. [to the editoe.] Sir, —Before the local Rugby Union members commence their deliberations on the broadcasting question at to-mor-row night’s meeting, I would suggest that those members who have been loudest in condemnation of the idea should earnestly examine themselves on the following points: — (1) Have I been sincere in all of my utterances on this question? (2) Had I been the first to get the idea of broadcasting local Rugby games, would I now kick against the present scheme? (3) How many times have I listened in to Rugby fixtures from Wellington and other centres where the weekly games are broadcast, and how much satisfaction and pleasure have I gained? (4) Do I honestly think a true blue Rugby supporter would refrain from attending the game in order to listen in, and save a bob? (5) Have I a personal grievance against the local Radio station or those connected with it, and by out-voting the motion I am able to enjoy the satisfaction of “putting one across” 3ZR? I do hope the members concerned will examine themselves honestly on these points—if they do I am sure Mr T. P. Ryan will have his motion carried unanimously. Yours etc. * BE SINCERE.
