The late James Gibson of Main Street, Reefton, whose death took place on Saturday morning,- was for many years a well known figure in the business world locally, having been a resident of the’ district, for some 30 years. Prior to his coming to Reefton, deceased was engaged in a’ carrying business in Dunedin. He was 82 years of age and. was a native of. Scotland, coming to New Zealand as a young man. He was for many years, engaged in the coal mining industry being associated with Messrs Harris and Mrs. Osborne in partnership, working what is now the Reef ton Coal Coy’s mine at Burke’s Creek, and was also for a period, manager of the “Inangahua Times.” The interment took place privately at the'suburban Cemetery.
