The Manchester “Guardian’s” Moscow correspondent says that there is considerable agitation over a Japanese press suggestion that the Soviet might sell not only the Chinese Eastern Railway, but also the port of Vladivostock, and the maritime province, also the island of Sakhalien. The papei’ “Isvestia” declares that Soviet territory is not for sale. It suggests that this suggestion is veiled pressure in an effort to lower the price of the Chinese Eastern Railroad.
