DISARMAMENT CONFERENCE. RUGBY, June 29. Hungary abstained from voting on the motion for adjourning the Disarmament Conference. WOMAN SPY. LONDON, June 30. LIVERY COMPANIES’ GUESTS. LONDON, June 20. A curious misunderstanding marred the series of entertainments which the great livery companies of the city had arranged for delegates to the World Economic Conference. Eleven of the premier companies had issued invitations to 300 of the delegates, but, unaware of the exalted status of the companies, descendants of the medieval guilds, the majority of the delegates assumed that Haberdashers, the Mercers, the Grocers, and the Ironmongers were mere bodies of traders anxious for publicity. The companies displayed their historic plate and art treasures in their famous halls, and provided rich fare and rich wines, but only a handful of guests attended each of the eleven dinners. One historic company entertained only four delegates. TREASURY BILLS. RUGBY, June 30. £67,885,000 was applied for in the tenders for treasury bills, opened today. The amount allotted in bills at three months was £44,860,000. The average rate was 8/9.55d, as compared with 7/10.34d in the first week.
