ART UNION RECEIPTS
ALLOCATIONS ANNOUNCED. [per press association.] WELLINGTON, April 11. The Minister of Internal Affairs, discussing various allocations of art union money, approved by the Government, announced that the finest collection of kauri gum specimens in the world, at present owned by Mr E. W. Peat, Auckland, is to be acquired by the National Art Gallery and Dominion
Museum with the allocation of £3OOO .from the proceeds of the Great Easter Art Union. Unemployment, relief organisations throughout the Dominion will benefit to the extent of £lO,OOO from another allocation of the art union proceeds. Five children’s health camps organisations are to receive £5OO each. The Central Otago Goldminers’ Prospecting Association will receive £l5OO. The United Fire Brigades’ Association of New Zealand has been allocated £soo'. This sum will be applied towards meeting expenses of the annual j conference. '
