LEAGUE FOOTBALL

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEET. The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the West Coast Rugby League was held last evening, there being present Messrs A. H. McKane (chairman), A. Anisy W. Barlow, L. Hunter, J. Anisy (Treasurer), and R. Harrington (secretary). Messrs W. O’Brien, and J. Stokes forwarded apologies for absence. The Pirate Club were granted, the use of the Wingham Park refreshment stall for the season. It was decided to accede to the request of the Rover Club, Waiuta, for the use of the representative jerseys for a match with Pirate juniors at Wingham Park on Sunday, on condition that an undertaking is given to wash and repair the jerseys; further, to advise them that Pirates had already arranged a friendly match with Runanga juniors for the suggested date. The Greymouth Civic Band wrote offering to play at all representative fixtures and club games not played on Sundays.—lt was decided to thank the Band for the offer. L. Mouatt’s transfer from the Pirate Club to Runanga was granted, subject to the Pirate Club’s approval. It was decided: (1) To inform.the Blackball Club that J. Calder would not be recognised as a member of the club until such time as his registration form, and an application for a transfer from the Marist Club, are received in . writing; (2) to inform all clubs that registration forms, transfers, reclassifications and team nominations must be forwarded to the League before next Tuesday evening, and that competition fixtures commence on Saturday, April 22 (for schoolboys), and Sunday, April 23 (for all other grades). Club were granted permission to arrange friendly matches for Sunday next. Blackball and Marist Club’s were granted permission to play a friendly schoolboys’ match on Tuesday next, the League to pay the expenses of the travelling team. The 1933 season’s Management Committee was elected by ballot as follows: Messrs L. Hunter, W. Barlow, A. Kyle, J. Stokes, A. Anisy, and W. O’Brien. Accounts amounting to £4 were passed for payment. After a recommendation from the finance committee with reference to the League’s assisting Clubs was discussed in committee, it was decided to refer- the recommendation to a meeting of delegates of all clubs on Tuesday next. The recommendation of the JuniorAdvisory Board that the schoolboy weight limit be raised to 7st. 31b., was held over pending receipt of information regarding the weight limits of other Leagues. It was decided to ask the Technical School Board of Governors that the conditions regarding coaches etc., extended to Rugby and Soccer at the School be extended to the League. Prior to the conclusion of the meeting Rev. Bro. Paschal, a new member of the Junior Advisory Board, and Mr A. Kyle, a newly-elected member of the Management Committee, were welcomed by the Chairman. WAIUTA ROVERS CLUB. . At a meeting of the public of Waiuta in the Union office, it was decided to form a League club, to be known as the Waiuta Rovers Rugby League Football Club. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Dr. Logan; president, Mr J. Guy; secretary, Mr J. Morel; treasurer, Mr E. Byrne; vicepresidents: Messrs J. Green, P. O’Donnell, J. McNamara, T. McVicar, G. Paul, J. Becker, C. Rehia, J. Fitzgerald, B. Cummings, J. Collins, B. bunshea, S. Morrison, J. Woods; auditor, Mr W. Northie; club captain, Mr R. White; vice-captain, Mr F. Flaherty; selectors, Messrs F. Baird, G. Ward and W. Lines; committee: Messrs R. White, L. Byrne, S. Cuff, B. Bannon, S. Bannon, E. Lines, A. Lines,

J. Matich, and Secretary. Social Committee: Mesdames Lewis, Meiklejohn, Harris, Ord, Messrs J. McEwin, >l. Guy, N. Byrne, G. Ward, and Secretary. Referees nominated to Centre, Messrs F. Baird and G. Harris. Subscriptions were fixed at 2/6 for junior members. It was decided to endeavour to arrange a match with Pirates for Sunday, April 16, at Wingham Park.
