MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB.

The second annual meeting of the

G-freymouth Miniature Rifle Club was held last evening, Mr Sharman preside ing over an attendance of fifteen members.

The President’s annual report, which is as follows, was read and adopted:— In presenting my report for the second annual meeting I am pleased to state that the season proved a successful one, after taking into consideration the difficulties the club was put to having to shift the range to the present site. The Club’s thanks are due to Mr Kim Williams for granting us the use of this building for a range at a very low rental in comparison with what we were paying for our late quarters. This' has now enabled us to provide more shooting nights. The balance-sheet shows an exenditure of £35/1/1, a big percentage of this being incurred in the installing of our new range. The receipts, show a decrease in subscriptions on the previous season, likewise the sale of ammunition. Hhis may have been caused by the hard times we passed through. The Club’s assets of £3O include rifles, gear and targets. Looking at the balance-sheet in a broad-minded manner, I think the Club can be congratulated in finishing up the season with a credit balance of 14/3J, so making the season a succesful one, a large percentage of credit going to our worthy secretary. During the yeai- various competitions were held', the shooting being very keen. The following were the prize-winners:—Hotty Button (men’s) —President. Hotty Button (ladies) — Miss J. Hamilton.
