MEETINGS

INANGAHUA A. AND P. ASSN. [OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REBFTON, April 5. There was a large attendance at the meeting held last evening to consider the Poultry Sub-Committee’s report regarding the schedule of the Poultry Show to be held in Reef ton. Ml- H. Campbell (president) was in the chair. The Chairman stated that the calling of the meeting earlier was to get things going as soon as possible. Letters were read from J. D. Gobbe, stating dates of shows in Canterbury, and stating fee for judging; from R. Pearce, secretary of the South Island Association, stating that the Association would allot two championships to Reefton, and suggesting June 30 and July 1 as suitable dates. Mr Wiley suggested that June 30 and July 1 b e the dates of the show, and that it be held in the band room. Seconded by Mr Allen. Mi* Cleaver suggested that the question of finance be discussed. He thought that before they decided on the dates they should discuss this* side of the matter. The Chairman pointed out that the marquees would have to be hired. The Buller Association would give the use of their cages, provided freight was paid. Mr Wiley said he had been promised a special prize of £2/2/-. flTie Chairman pointed out that the tradesmen of Reefton had already been waited upon, and few would care to ask them again for further special prizes. Mr Wiley said he was prepared to donate a trio of birds. Mr Allen would also make a similar donation. The motion was carried. Mr Pratt moved and Mr Archer seconded, that Messrs Wiley and W. Allen be a sub-committee to canvass for special prizes. It was decided that the thanks of the meeting be recorded to Messrs Wiley and Allen for their gifts of trios of bird's. The consideration of the schedule was deputed to Messrs Wiley, Allen, Hickton, and Dellaca to finalise. Rev. Father Seymour moved that the Club provide two cups for competition if necessary.—Carried.
