OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT. “The Dark Horse,” a picture which comes to the Opera House to-night and Tuesday affords a timely glimpse of behind th© scenes activities of political leaders. COMING TO OPERA HOUSE. Marie Dressier, the appealing actress of “Min and Bill,” “Politics,” and “Let Us Be; Gay” acts even more naturally in her latest, “Emma.” She is able to vary her acting to suit whatever style may be required, and in the characters she has represented it is always Marie Dressier who is subordinated and any particular aspect of a character brought before the audience with consummate ease. RUNANGA TO-NIGHT Residents of Runanga and surrounding districts arc invited to the Gymnasium, this evening, to hear and assist the old-time choir in songs of long ago and a community sing conducted by Mr. Pat Coll. Miss M. Burgoyne will give an exhibition dance. It is not the committee’s aim to strike a new note —but they will endeavour to knock all old notes to the boundary. At the conclusion of an hour’s sing song a “Back to Childhood” dance will be held. Runanga is asked to rally along in its shorts and ginghams of 20 years ago. Valuable prizes are offered for the most childish dancer and file Monte Carlo and other novelties will be the order of the evening.
