HOKITIKA, March 11.
The Hokitika Borough Council met last evening. Present: The Mayor (Mr G. A. Perry), Cr s D. J. Evans, T. W. Duff, D. P. Stuart, E. W. Heenan, A. C. Armstrong, G. Heinz, Jas. King, A. R. Elcock. An apology was received from Dr. E. Teichelmann.
H. P. Fitzgerald applied to instal septic tank at part Section 1187, Park Street.—Agreed subject to Health Inspector’s consent.
Paroa School Committee applied for the use of Cass Square for annual picnic.—Approved. Mrs A. Boyd, Rimu, wrote drawing attention to the state of the frontage of her property in Jollie Street, caused by the lowering of the footpath level, and asking that a stone or plank wall be erected, and asking, for reasonable access to her property.—To be attended to.
R. L. Leach wrote asking for permission to erect a kerbside petrol pump in Hampden Street at the frontage of Sections 3317 and 839. — Granted, subject, to usual terms.
J. F. W. Schroder wrote drawing attention to the unsatisfactory condition of the open drain at his frontage in Brittan Street; (b) Pointing out. that a gum tree growing on adjoining property is a menace to passing traffic. —To be attended to. If. Kortegast and other residents wrote pointing out the inconvenience caused through (the .overflow from the drain at Rolleston and Davis Streets, and asking that steps be taken to have the matter remedied.
P. .1. Kirwan applied to transfer his interests as a tenant in Lot 14, Whitcombe Square, to R. Morgan.
