The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Championship meeting opened at Lancaster Park, this afternoon, in brilliant sunshine. The track was fast, but a north-east breeze was blowing across the ground and it hindered the sprinters. Results: — One Mile Footrace. —J. G. Barnes (Otago) 1, J. AV. Savidan (Auckland) 2, A. D.
